Since 2014, the Ticino-based collective BLUE 2147 has been producing and promoting collaborative musical creations dedicated to improvisation, instant composition and interdisciplinarity.
Born out of an idea by pianist Gabriele Pezzoli and drummer Brian Quinn, the BLUE 2147 collective has involved musicians and performers active in Ticino, Switzerland, and across Europe in over 150 creations. Thanks to a long-standing partnership with the Six O’Clock concert series, it has also taken part in numerous events as house band and co-curator. The collective’s activities have given rise to the permanent projects Colossus of Rhodes, R:ED, with the special participation of Nils Petter Molvær, and RAUN, with the special participation of Arve Henriksen.

Of course, we realise that a simple list might not seem particularly appealing. But the ideas behind BLUE 2147 come to life thanks to the contributions and creativity of every musician and performer who, in different ways and roles, has collaborated with the collective.
